FAQ

Before the session

It is my first photoshoot. Can you give me tips?
Of course! I know how vulnerable it can feel to be in front of the camera, and you don’t need to worry about posing. I’ve got you. As a family and portrait photographer, my specialty is to work with people, and most of my clients have never had a photoshoot before! I’ll guide you throughout the whole process, give you prompts and create a workflow that aligns to your personality/vibe, and make it easy so you can just be!

How do I book?
To get started, please inquire here. After I respond, we can schedule a discovery call where you can ask all your questions and get a sense of what it will be like working together. If we are in agreement, I’ll need a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer to officially reserve your spot.

What should I wear?
Once we start planning your session, I’ll send over tips and outfit suggestions, along with a mood board for vibe and wardrobe inspiration. But as a general rule, I always recommend wearing something that makes you feel both comfortable and beautiful.

I might need a makeup artist for my session. Do you have any recommendations?
Absolutely! I work closely with a couple of amazing makeup and hair artists who will have you glowing for your photoshoot. I’d be happy to send you their info.

After the session

When and how will I receive our photos?
You’ll receive high-resolution and web-sized photos through a private, password-protected gallery, along with full printing rights within 3-4 weeks of your session. And here’s the best part—you’ll get sneak peeks a couple of days after your session!

How many photos will I receive?
My average delivery is around 40+ photographs, though each session is one-of-a-kind! I don’t hold back—I share everything with you, so you’ll always get more photos than you might expect! The above applies to families, maternity, couples/engagement, and newborn photography. For portraits & headshots, you get to choose your favorite 12 portraits for me to edit.

General

How long is a session?
Family, maternity and couple/engagement sessions are 2 hours. Newborn are 2 to 2.5 hours. Portraits/headshots are 1 hour.

When should I schedule my maternity session?
I typically schedule maternity sessions anywhere from 28-35 weeks.

When should I schedule my newborn session?
The sweet spot is when the baby is within 10-15 days old. That being said, I have also photographed babies that are a month old for this milestone.

What happens if we get bad weather?
As a Vancouver photographer, I’m no stranger to this question! Above all, I just want you to feel relaxed and happy during our session—if that means rescheduling, tweaking the timeline, or picking a new location, we’ll find the perfect solution. And hey, a little light rain can be absolutely magical and cinematic (especially for couples and engagement shoots)! If we decide to dance in the rain, I’ll make sure we’re all set with cozy blankets and umbrellas to keep things fun and comfy!

Do you charge travel fees?
I’m happy to travel within Metro Vancouver for your session! For locations more than 10 kms outside of the West End, Vancouver, a travel fee will apply. Let’s connect!

What is your cancellation policy?
Should something come up (health related, emergency or just life!) I totally get it! The 50% retainer is non-refundable but we can always reschedule the session.
